By virtue of providing a readymade and reliable outlet for their produce, and realistic prices, Export Trading Company is instrumental in encouraging the agri sector in general and the farming communities in particular.

Export Trading Company, through its processing facilities, particularly in developing economies, is helping impart skills, transfer technology, build local capability and create avenues for local employment.

As part of our continuing endeavor to improve productivity per farm unit, we have organized for supply of inputs (seeds, fertilizer and tools) at reasonable prices to the small and medium farmer. We have established contract farming thereby guaranteeing the farmer not only supply of inputs but also the ability to pre-sell crop before it is produced.

There is also a proposal to impart an additional function to the warehouses, which will double up as ‘Farmers Service Centers’. These service centers would provide inputs and services to farmers at reasonable prices with the option of credit for inputs against expected market prices for the produce under a buy back arrangement. We are also exploring the possibility of providing storage and financing to farmers under collateral management agreements.

We are continually working with rural communities and government to implement ways in which we can maximize production and returns, thereby increasing foreign exchange and creating employment.
